4:30 AM: Hotel Pickup in Cusco
Begin your journey early with a pickup from your hotel and a drive through the South Valley. Enjoy a scenic ride through traditional Andean villages and mountain landscapes.
7:00 AM: Breakfast in Cusipata
Stop for a nourishing Andean-style breakfast in the town of Cusipata. Your guide will also give a short safety briefing before the hike.
8:30 AM: Arrival at Trailhead – Chillihuani (approx. 4,600 m)
Arrive at the starting point of the hike. Your guide will help you adjust to the altitude and begin the trek at a comfortable pace.
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Hike to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)
Trek through open landscapes surrounded by herds of alpacas and snow-capped peaks. After about 1.5 hours, reach the famous summit viewpoint at 5,036 m (16,522 ft).
10:30 AM – 11:15 AM: Explore & Enjoy the Views
Take in the incredible 360° panoramic views of Rainbow Mountain, the nearby Ausangate Glacier, and (optionally) begin a short hike toward the Red Valley, known for its surreal Martian-like terrain.
11:30 AM: Begin Descent
Hike back to the starting point, descending gradually across the open plains.
1:00 PM: Drive to Cusipata & Lunch
Enjoy a buffet-style Andean lunch in Cusipata before returning to Cusco.
4:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Arrival in Cusco
Drop-off at your hotel. End of the tour.
